On May 21, 2013 we did an internet search for a roofing contractor and within minutes of the information being submitted through home advisor, Alfred called my husband john to set-up an appointment for an estimate for later on that day. Alfred then called later to re-schedule for an hour later due to the weather. Upon completion of the estimate we were given a quote which we felt was a fair and reasonable price to have our roof replaced. Their supervisor (Alfred) and the crew tore-off all the existing shingles, felt and replaced both. They also installed two box vents and replaced the damage decking they also checked the air vent stacks to make sure they were connected. They also offered to shorten, recap and paint the air vent stacks to make them look better. We were told it would be an all day job, and it was. They started and finished in one day, including the clean up, unlike a previous roofing company. This crew did a great job cleaning-up, they even came back the next day to double check their clean-up, because it got dark the day before. Not only was the price fair, but they came out when they said they would to complete the estimate and the job itself. The fact is that their clean-up was great, they rinse off the roof and gutters after completion and we felt that was fantastic. We are very satisfied customers and we would definitely recommend smart choice roofing to other potential customers.

Work began on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Due to the extreme amount of decking damage, the crew worked a long day and completed the tear-out and replacement of the damaged boards. They maintained a clean work zone which was difficult due to two layers of shingles being removed. We have a large dog and they especially paid attention to keep the back yard as clear as possible so he could go out during the day. Wednesday dawned cloudy with an upgraded chance of rain. The crew had already shingled the back portion of the house and had returned to complete the front when it began to rain. They quickly covered the remainder of the roof and had to postpone work. Alfred Armendariz was the supervisor of the crew and because of the storm was able to check for leaks first hand. He came in and checked several times during the heavy rain. When the rain let up the crew went back to work and even though the constant drizzle soaked them all they completed the job with great professionalism. We had several fascia boards that needed replacing as well and Alfred painted them for us before installing. We are very proud to pull up to our house now and see a job well done with our new roof and trim boards gleaming a bright white. The crew arrived when promised and did a tear off of the old roof and replaced it with the type and color of shingles that I ordered. There was another job that they were also working on so the start was delayed. However the roof was completed and the job site was kept clean.
